Tractor pull

 This is what happens when you have a water pipe leaking and your husband decides to fix it himself.

He makes an incredibly large hole.

Then spends the rest of the day playing in the dirt. They never really do grow up do they? Kidding. He fixed it. He's a do it yourselfer, and I love him for that. As long as he fixed it. Had he not fixed it....different story. Had he hit the phone line...different story. I say that last part, only because it has happened. He's lucky I work for the phone company.

After inserting his entire tractor in that hole, he managed to get himself stuck. Every ranch woman's worst nightmare. Ugh, he's going to come inside soon and ask me to pull him out. Please please please tractor, throw me a bone here. I know how this went the last time a tractor, me, a pickup, and him were involved. It wasn't pretty. Arms were thrown in the air, words may have been shouted in the air. Someone may have stomped back into the house and swore she'd never pull him out again? Seems like this scenario is familiar?

Oh no, here he comes. Dang tractor.
Jed: {very calmly} ok, just go nice and steady, don't jerk and don't spin out. It should come right out.
Me: Mmmm, hmmmm

Slow and steady...pulling, pulling, pulling. Nope. Not happening.
Jed: Were you even trying?
Me: Well YAH, of course I was trying.
Jed: alright forget it. {calls his Dad} Are you coming down or what? Tally tried to pull me out, but you know how that goes.
Me: Oh, no you di'int
He then goes and gets a bale on the back of the pickup. I then march out without him even having to ask. Put it in 4 wheel drive, 1st gear and give'er hell.
Wha-la. Pulls him right out. I put it in park, shut it off, get out, brush my hands off and go back inside.
Mmmmm hmmm. That's right. You know how that goes.
We women just need to be told we can't, to prove we can. Works every time.
