1st grade

Today was Jayda's first day of 1st grade! She was super excited to get back to school and see all her buddies. Life at daycare for a 6 year old can get pretty boring. Unfortunately for her, we don't have many other options. I tried to keep her busy with bible schools, swimming and a week at Grandma's.

There are just seven kids in her class this year, 2 boys and 5 girls! Yikes! Her teacher has a bit of a bad reputation for having favorites, so I'm praying Jayda gets on that list. Last year at the track and field day, I was sitting with Jayda before her next event and this same teacher said, "She must be such a JOY to be around!" I couldn't help but laugh a little and think to myself...oh you just wait! But honestly hoping that was a good sign for their future together! Time will tell.

Paisley is having a hard time waiting for her school (Head Start) to begin. Doesn't make much sense to her why Jayda gets to start and she doesn't. They wait until after Labor Day for the little ones. She's pretty dependant on big sister and cried when I dropped her off this morning, alone. Poor baby! Give it a few days and the little ones will be glad those big kids aren't around all day to pick on them!
