Veteran's day letter

Christmas vacation has officially started for the girls. I'm excited to talk to Jayda tonight and hear about her day. Back in November for Veteran's day, the kids in her class each wrote a letter to a Veteran. Jayda chose a woman named Jennifer. She is the daughter of our babysitter, Kaye and also the person who took our Christmas photo's last year of the girls. She served in Afghanistan in 2011 and also has a daughter Jayda's age, whose name is Vada! Jayda would secretly (or publicly) like to swap lives with Vada most days. Vada is in gymnastics, ballet, dance and whatever else a 7 year old can possibly be in. They live in Rapid, so Jayda thinks her life is just amazing :)
Anyway, Jayda wrote her a letter thanking her for her service and Jenn thought it was pretty special of Jayda to think of her and go out of her way (or my way) to get her address. The morning the letters were due to be sent, Jayda was spazzing because I hadn't gotten her address yet. One text later, we had it!

So Jenn sent a thank you letter and Christmas goodies all the way from Germany to Jayda's class today. So sweet! Jayda also thought it was so cool that when Jenn was deployed, she came home for Christmas and her husband surprised the kids by putting her in a huge box and letting them unwrap it. They had no idea she was coming home! Who doesn't love a surprise homecoming!! Proud of her big heart and thoughtfulness!

P.S. It feels like this picture was taken just a few days ago. I found the matching snowpants yesterday and they are a size 4/5. What? That's what size Paisley is NOW! How does this happen!!!  Gah!
