See that? That's rain!! If you ever need to cheer up a bunch of old cowboys, make it rain!! Things were looking pretty bleak in our neck of the woods, as they were across most of the midwest. We didn't get much for snow this year and missed out on the ridiculous amount of snow our neighbors to the south received. But God came through and opened up the sky this past weekend. Over a 4 day period we had around 3 inches of rain. Pastures changed from dust trails to green, almost over night. I think a lot of ranchers probably stood outside on their porch and wept tears of relief as the rain came down.
A person gets to a point where you stop believing it can even rain at all anymore. Chances of rain in the forecast generally dissipate and we're left with nothing but wind. But they got it right this time! Neighbors were already sending truck loads of cattle to the sale barn, and our first cut was getting near.
By Sunday, our phone was ringing non-stop. "hey, how much rain did ya get?" "Hey, ain't this great!" If there's one thing cowboys like to talk about, its RAIN!
So in the words of the gorgeous Luke Bryan..."Rain is uh good thing!"
