Building

Plans are in the works, and are finally coming together for Jed and I to build a house. We plan on starting early Fall of 2012. I'd like to start in June, but we'll see! One of many battles, I'm sure.

So for those that don't know, or haven't seen our plans, we are building it out of square logs, probably 8 inch.

It will look similar to this, except the pitch and height of the garage roof, will be the same as the rest of the house. (envision a continuation of the house roof)

We're very excited to make this a reality! Jed will do majority of the building and finishing himself, along with the help of his dad and family, and mine when possible!

Here's another picture that shows a floor plan pretty close to what we'll do. Again, the garage will be connected and not like the picture shows. The second floor, where it says "office," will actually be open to below. And clearly the room above the garage is not shown here. You can click on the picture to make it bigger.

 The dimensions will be, 30(w) by 70(L). 30x42 will be the living space, and the garage will be the other 28 feet of length. The top floor will be the entire 30x72 of living space. Above the garage will make a nice media room/kids room. The thought alone of that much open space, makes me breathe easier! It will be wonderful!
